Have you ever wondered how you can apply astrology to your everyday life but don’t know where to start?
Astrology can be very complex and sometimes overwhelming to interpret, so I have compiled a quick guide to help you consciously incorporate daily practices to cultivate mindfulness. By understanding which element rules your zodiac sun sign, you can get a better idea of what you can do to keep your energy balanced.
Most people identify with their sun sign, which just means the planetary position the sun was in on the date and time they were born. The sun sign gives a general overview of a person’s core of who they are and shows personal strengths, conscious mind, decision making, and how one moves through the world. There are 12 zodiac signs in astrology, and they are divided among the four natural elements: fire, earth, air, and water. Each element represents three of the zodiac signs.
Here are a few practices to cultivate MINDFULNESS
based on the qualities of each zodiac sign’s natural element:
The fire signs are very energetic and passionate by nature. They can also be assertive, intense, and free-spirited, so they need activities that will get them excited and help them be present in the moment. Engaging in daily practices that are stimulating, such as painting or creating art, can be of great benefit to the fire signs. Another helpful practice for the fire signs is exercise through dancing. Taking a few minutes each day to put on some music that makes them feel good and dance their hearts away will help them stay centered in their energy.
The earth signs are known for their nurturing and calm demeanor. They can be disciplined, patient, and driven by strength, commitment, and perseverance. They are also very grounded by nature, so for them to be centered in their energy, they need to partake in activities that bring out this side of them. The earth signs can practice yoga and mindful body movements to release energy and increase mind-to-body connection. They can also spend time in nature, go on walks, or have a plant that they take care of regularly.
The air signs are very intellectual, as this element represents the ability to process information and communicate. Because of their logical and quick-witted nature, they tend to spend a lot of time in their heads. Being present in the body is very important for the air signs to establish balance so they don’t get overwhelmed by their thoughts. Some activities that can help with this are journaling to organize their thoughts, practicing mindful breathwork exercises, and burning herbs or incense in their space to create a balanced environment.
The water signs are known for their intense emotions, empathy, observant nature, creativity, and intuitive abilities. At times, they can be overwhelmed by their own emotions or external environment. They may hold onto a lot of energy that they have collected from people and places they’ve encountered and interacted with. For them to feel centered in their energy, they need to consciously release energy in a healthy way. Some practices that they can include in their routines are taking spiritual baths to cleanse their energy and practicing outdoor exercises, especially in or near water. They can also benefit from practicing meditation.
Looking at the parts of astrology that affect us most and using them to our advantage can be impactful for our health and well-being. By incorporating mindfulness practices into our day-to-day lives that suit our zodiac element, we can work towards maintaining balance and cultivate an energy of overall satisfaction and flow.
