  • About Us
  • Read Geaux Girl!

Don’t have a lot of time in the morning but want to look put together (without getting dress coded)? Brittani and Zari showed our model, Miracle (13) from Pierre A. Capdau Charter School, how it’s done. We also asked them to share some must-have products that aren’t crazy expensive!

HAIR

Brittani’s Pro Tip:

“You may not need any styling products to create your ponytail. Give your hair a break whenever you can!”

Brittani’s Pro Tip:

“Use bobby pins as a fun hair accessory. Add a bunch and try different patterns for a more dramatic and unique look.”

Low side ponytails are classy yet playful. They’re also super quick and easy and work on any hair type (as long as it’s long enough). You can incorporate accessories, like headbands and embellished or colorful ponytail holders, to bring out your unique style.

Brittani’s Product Recs

KeraCare Conditioning Creme Hairdress adds moisture and gives a smooth look. It conditions your hair throughout the day.

KeraCare Edge Tamer gives your hairline added sleekness and helps to tame unruly hair. Brittani’s fav alternative is Creme of Nature Argan Oil Perfect Edges.

When choosing cheaper dupes, be sure to check the alcohol content. Many holding sprays contain too much alcohol which will dry out your hair.

Have trouble with flyaway hairs? Brittani used Sebastian Shaper Plus Hair Spray for Miracle. After making your pony tail, spray a moderate amount of hairspray and smoothen the flyaways with your hand. Repeat as needed.

MAKEUP

Zari’s Product Recs

TO PREP YOUR SKIN:

Maybelline Master Prime is a light moisturizer that protects the skin and covers pores.

TO PREP YOUR SKIN:

Vaseline Petroleum Jelly protects the lips and combats dryness all day. Simply apply a thin coat with a Q-tip.

TO CREATE YOUR NATURAL LOOK:

Use Covergirl 3-in-1 Foundation or L’Oréal Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation for excellent coverage that doesn’t leave the skin heavy and overly made up.

Zari’s Pro Tip:

“Apply foundation or concealer to the area under your eyes with a makeup sponge to blend the product into your skin and avoid buildup.”

Covergirl Clean Glow Blush provides a rosy finish to the cheeks.

Zari used the BH Cosmetics Studio Pro Ultimate Brow Palette to fill in Miracle’s brows.

Maybelline Volum’ Express Colossal Waterproof Mascara is great for sweaty New Orleans weather.

E.L.F. Illuminating Mist and Set Spray finishes your look and makes your skin even more dewy and radiant.

FOR A LITTLE EXTRA SPRING GLOW:

Crayon Case AnGLOWla Highlighter Powder adds another layer of glamour to the cheekbones.

Clear lip gloss from your local Family Dollar store is a great addition to any makeup lover’s collection for everyday or a special occasion.
