Makes 20-24 brownies
(depending on how big you slice them)
BAKE TIME:

Ingredients
- 6 eggs
- 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 sticks butter
- 1/2 cup Crisco shortening
- 1 1/2 cups baking cocoa powder
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

Melt the butter in a pan. Once it has completely melted, add the vanilla and Crisco.

Combine the sugars in a bowl with the melted mixture. Stir until well combined, which typically takes 5-7 minutes.

Add one egg at a time to the mixture.

In a separate bowl, add flour, baking cocoa powder, and salt.

Combine the two mixtures together. Mix thoroughly.

Pour brownie batter into a pan and bake at 375 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
Serve once brownies have cooled to a comfortable eating temperature!
This recipe comes to us from SAQQARAH (pronounced “Sa-ky-rah”), age 19, who joined the Café Reconcile team in August 2022. She’s already rising to new heights as an intern.
