Your Twisted Game
By ZOE MOSELEY
I wish I could tell you the way I feel.
The way I yearn to hear your voice.
To feel your touch, even just the brush of a hand.
Do you feel it too?
Probably not.
For I’m not as good as you.
I wish I could go back and tell you sooner.
Then I would not be the questioner
Of this twisted game.
Do you play it for fun?
Are you even playing at all?
Or am I the background noise to your song?
I need to see you.
It’s been too long.
I wish I was too poised
To be part of your twisted game.
Say my name.
Say it!
When they ask you who it is that is making you smile.
I wish you’d say me and make this hurt worthwhile.
I wish I didn’t do it to myself.
Get so excited.
But there’s nothing I love more
Than playing your twisted game.
